Hey all!  I know some of you are already aware, but I want to make this a somewhat *formal* announcement.   On Sunday, June 22nd, TeamWench will be hosting a fundraising motorcycle ride & picnic at the Burba Lake Cottage at Fort Meade.  The ride will begin at 9:30, last about 2 - 2-1/2 hours, and the picnic will begin at 12:30 pm.  ALL ARE WELCOME!  You do not need to ride a motorcycle to participate!   The charity that we have selected to benefit from this event is the RESCU Foundation - the only organization out there that really provides assistance to Renaissance festival/faire actors, vendors, etc., and one that does not get a great deal of support from the general public.  www.rescufoundation.com  Please consider participating in whatever way you can to help us raise as much money possible to donate to this non-profit organization and support our RenWorld in the best way ever!   Cost:  $45 per motorcycle driver (inclusive); $25 per passenger (inclusive); $25 picnic only; $5 per child 10 & under (inclusive)   We have live entertainment set up for your enjoyment, which is included in the above-listed prices.  If you are interested in donating your time towards our entertainment line-up, please contact me directly!  (cvdayhoff at hotmail dot com)   We need your help in any way that you might be willing!  And while you are at it, please consider the following information, which I am cross-posting here from Paradox at Wench dot org: ************* Search the web with www.goodsearch.com and money from Yahoo advertisers will go to the RESCU Foundation without you spending a dime! Arrr! We're a bit overdue, but we have finally ironed out all the details (and used extra starch!) and we are happy to give to ye details of MDRF Invasion Weekend!
MDRF Invasion Weekend is the weekend of Saturday September 22 and Sunday 23. This be on Adventurer's Weekend, formerly known as Pirate Weekend.

Hotel:
Invasion Quarters will be at the Hampton Inn @ Glen Burnie.
Yer scurvy crew has captured 10 rooms from Friday 21st - Monday 24th. We fought, we pillaged and we got a rate of @ $109.00 - as opposed to the landlubber rate of $139.00.
When calling 1-410-761-7666 ask for Wenches Anna or Marianne (excepting don't tell them I told ye they were) and give the name Maryland Renaissance Faire Invasion. The agreement was booked under Shelley Wallace, in case they need further clarification.

Ye'll meet our Official Photographer Vyxen at 11:00 at the Jury Rig stage on Saturday or sharkbait ye'll be! Ye'll stagger and crawl and X marks the spot. Ye'll be gettin' yer photo taken at 11:15 sharp.

Meet & Greet Saturday:
Ye'll meet our fine wenches, buccaneers, lads, lassies and privateers at the Dragon Inn after ye parody of yerself in color from 11:30-12:30. Ye'll meet at the Dragon for grog, hugs, kisses, plundering, pillaging, capturing, hornswaggling, going on the account, what have ye!

Scavenger Hunt:
Get yer land legs ready, clear your head and get to searching for the booty! Yer illustrious Madame Lillye along with her scurvy sidekicks, Madam Macaw, Kyrsalynn and Mistress Shelley will be hosting yer scavenger hunt. Ye'll search, ye'll eye, ye'll beg, borrow and steal and ye'll get an answer to yer question, if ye have the right mate! Ye'll get yer letter of marquee at the Dragon Inn during the Meet & Greet. If ye want to come aboard, ye'll need to let Madam Macaw know before ye play and ye'll need to sign on at madammacaw(at)gmail(dot)com. Madam Macaw will need to know if yer participating by Friday, September 21. If ye don't sign up, we'll have a few spots open to the first one's of ye who get to us! We'll tell ye who pillaged and won at the Meet & Greet on Sunday - when ye'll be awarded yer booty. 2nd and 3rd place, ye'll get yer trinket! The likes of the rest of ye will rest in Davy Jones Locker...

Well, come 11 a.m. tomorrow, I will be leaving work, picking up a few friends and loading up the car to make the trek to NY for Tux Invasion.  Woot woot!  Anyone on her going?

If not, have a glorious weekend doing something fun and a bit naughty!!!!

OC vacation was nice and relaxing - will have pics later on.

When we got back on Saturday though, we found out grandma is in the hospital (since Friday). My MIL didn't want to tell us while we were still at the ocean. They didn't think she was going to make it to the hospital, let alone through the weekend. She had symptoms of yet another stroke - couldn't talk, teeth and fists clentched, weak pulse and blood pressure, etc. The family was prepared to let her go. She was un responsive all day. Then, when Penny (Walt's sister) went to visit her on Saturday, she asked her what she was doing. Her blood pressure has improved and she looks much better. Right now we are waiting to find out about the tests they have run on her, but she is looking better each and every day.

Sunday night I couldn't sleep and called work about 6 a.m. on Monday to let them know I wouldn't be in. I finally fell asleep after that and woke at 10 a.m. Hubbie told me he talked to his dad and asked about grandma and was told more horrible news. His cousin, a beautiful 22 year old was shot Monday morning (about 2 a.m.) in Fells Point. Her boyfriend and another guy got into a fight at a bar and when they left the guy shot into the car, hitting her in the neck. Her spinal cord is severed and she has a slim chance of surviving.

They are only letting immediate family visit her. There are still fragments of the bullet in her neck that they haven't taken out yet because of her condition. The type of bullet that was used shatters on impact to do the most damage - I hate the man that invented this!! She will never walk again, paralyzed from the neck down. The boyfriend dropped her off at the hospital ER and then left, but was arrested when he came back, but he is out now. I haven't heard if the shooter has been arrested yet or not, I am sure the boyfriend knows who it is. I don't know.

We were at Aunt Doris' house last night after visiting Grandma in the hospital. She doesn't know yet. I think they are waiting for her to come home to tell her. This is going to hit her hard. Jessica was always at the house almost every weekend with my mother-in-law, Anita. Doris mentioned yesterday that Anita is more her grandmother than she is because they were always together. I am sure Grandma will wonder why the powers that be won't take her (she is ready) but they will take someone so young with their life ahead of them. Makes me wonder too.

That is all I know for now. The house is a wreck, my emotions are at full tilt right now.

So please say a few prayers for the both of them.
